Ghana’s Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, has described the ongoing picketing at the Ministry of Finance by pensioners as unnecessary amidst protests over the country’s ongoing debt exchange program.

The picketing, which started last week, is in protest of Governments initiative to restructure the countrys debt under the Debt Exhange Program which the bondholders claim is going to negatively impact their financial position.
