Chelsea have completed a deal to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk for £87million from Shakhtar Donetsk – beating Arsenal to his signature – leaving Arsenal to turn to Plan B and a player they’ve long been keen on
The January transfer window is now in full swing with clubs across the Premier League moving to bolster their ranks ahead of a packed schedule over the coming months.
Manchester United have confirmed a loan deal for Wout Weghorst, while Chelsea have hijacked Arsenal’s move for Mykhaylo Mudryk, blowing the Gunners out of the water with an £87million deal. The Ukrainian made his first Stamford Bridge appearance on Sunday.
That means there will now be plenty of eyes on Arsenal, as Mikel Arteta and co turn to alternative targets, with Barcelona’s Raphinha – a player they missed out on last summer – now at the forefront of their minds once again.
Liverpool could also be forced into action after defeat at Brighton on Saturday left them well off the pace in the Premier League, with a move for Wolves captain Ruben Neves touted as he enters the final 18 months of his contract at Molineux.
