Inspector-General of Police (IGP) is scheduled to appear before the before the bipartisan committee probing the leaked audio tape on Tuesday September 12.
This development follows weeks of rigorous questioning of several police officers concerning the events leading to the alleged removal of the nation’s highest-ranking law enforcement official.
The alleged ousting of the IGP has been a subject of fervent debate, both within the political arena and among the general public.
In a report the chairman of the comittee said “After reviewing the contents of the newly acquired tape, the committee has decided to reexamine all four witnesses.
The Chairman, further announced that the committee will reconvene on Tuesday, September 13, to continue its work on the matter.”
‘The witnesses who have appeared before us have prompted us to consider summoning the Inspector General of Police to testify before the committee. This session will be held in-camera, as we are delving into sensitive matters related to potential national security concerns”
