The Ghana Police Service has temporarily suspended the interdiction of three senior officers implicated in a leaked audio recording. The recording allegedly captures discussions about the removal of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.
The police in a statement indicated that the suspension is primarily aimed at preventing any interference with the ongoing investigation conducted by Parliament.
“In an effort to maintain the integrity of the parliamentary probe and ensure an impartial and comprehensive investigation, the Police Administration has temporarily suspended the interdiction of these officers. This decision has been made to uphold the principles of fairness and to avoid any potential bias that might arise from preconceived notions.”
