Bugri Naabu Caught in Leaked Recording: Admits Receiving Payments from Police

A new video has emerged as part of the ongoing series of recordings related to the alleged plot to remove the current Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, from office. In this latest release, comprising a video and a recorded phone call, Bugri Naabu, the former Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is heard making a startling admission – that he is on the payroll of the Ghana Police Service.

The revelation surfaced during a phone call between Bugri Naabu and an unidentified individual he referred to as “Amad.” In this conversation, Amad accused Bugri Naabu of receiving payments from IGP Dampare, asserting that he was paid an amount of GH₵‎10,000.

Bugri Naabu is seen swiftly rejecting the accusation and clarified that he was receiving financial compensation from the police service for his role as an informant.

He emphasized that he did not receive payments directly from IGP Dampare but rather from the police authorities, who considered his contributions as a paramount chief in matters related to security.

In the course of the conversation, Bugri Naabu’s accuser remained adamant, asserting that the payments were indeed from the IGP, not the police service.

Tensions escalated as the disagreement continued, with Bugri Naabu ultimately challenging his accuser by daring him to take any action he deemed fit.
