Legal Practioner Martin Kpebu has raised serious concerns about the financial dealings of former Sanitation and Water Resources Minister, Cecilia Dapaah.

Kpebu’s remarks come in the wake of a recent move by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to seizes Dapaah’s assets and funds again

“I saw this coming, and we cannot simply stand by and allow Cecilia Dapaah to walk away with our money,” Kpebu declared emphatically.

He additionally emphasized that the core issue revolves around the remarkable magnitude of transactions uncovered in Dapaah’s financial accounts. According to him, the volume of transactions in one of her accounts amounts to an astonishing $5 million, while her Ghanaian account reflects transactions totaling approximately 48 million cedis sparking questions about the source of such significant wealth, especially in light of Dapaah’s professional background.

“the volume of transaction in one of the accounts is 5 million dollars volume of transaction in ghanaian account is about 48 million cedis what work did cecilia dapaah do to earn this income”

He concluded by saying that The OSP’s recent move is a step in a right direction and the facts available are grounded in concerns that the money may be linked to some illicit activities.

Background

Special Prosecutor seizes Cecilia Dapaah’s money again

Former Sanitation and Water Resources Minister, Cecilia Dapaah is not getting the money the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) seized from her house any time soon.

This is because the OSP has invoked its powers to still take custody of the money days after the High Court asked the office to return same.

The Accra High Court last week ordered the OSP to return the money in question and unfreeze Ms Dapaah’s bank accounts.

Although the OSP in a statement said it had complied with the order, it said investigations were still ongoing and believes the money in question is tainted hence the decision to take custody of the amount.
