Office of the President Denounces False Reports of Security Walkout

In a resounding rebuttal of recent rumors and allegations, the Presidency has categorically denied claims that security personnel stationed at the Jubilee House, the official residence and office of the President of Ghana, have been subjected to unfair treatment leading to their mass exodus.

The dispelling of these assertions came through an official statement issued by the Presidency on September 3, signed by Eugene Arhin, the Director of Communications.

The unverified rumors had suggested that a significant number of security personnel had abandoned their posts at the Jubilee House due to alleged mistreatment. However, the official statement from the Presidency vehemently rejected these claims, urging the public to treat them with skepticism.

“The Office of the President would like to put on record that at no point in the tenure of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, from 2017 till date, have seventy-seven security personnel left Jubilee House to their respective units,” the statement declared. It further emphasized that no security officer had departed from Jubilee House solely because of perceived “unfair treatment” at the presidential seat.

The statement also raised concerns about the lack of supporting evidence for the allegations. “Curiously, at no point in Mr. Owusu’s submissions did he provide any evidence whatsoever to buttress these false claims,” noted the Director of Communications.

To provide clarity on the issue, the statement underscored that security officers who had left Jubilee House had done so for reasons such as disciplinary actions or voluntary decisions made by the officers themselves. This clarification aimed to address any misconceptions surrounding the departures.

The Presidency concluded the statement by reiterating its call for the public to disregard the unfounded claims and treat them with the contempt they deserve, emphasizing the importance of relying on verified information and evidence in discussions and debates.

The swift response from the Presidency seeks to quell the spreading rumors and reaffirm the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in its operations. The issue highlights the significance of accurate information in public discourse and the responsibility of all parties involved to ensure the veracity of claims before dissemination.
